Knit Barley Hat Workshop
Learn to knit a beautiful wool beanie on circular needles! Pattern is Barley Worsted by Tin Can Knits.
Prior Experience Required: Long tail cast on, knit stitch, and purl stitch. (If you are rusty on one or more of these basic skills, please book a class with Janna prior to the first session. They will not be taught as a part of the workshop.)
You’ll learn: How to knit a hat in the round on circular needles, decreasing method of your choice, and finishing off a hat.
We’ll provide: Hands-on instruction over 2 sessions, in a small class setting of 4 students.
Materials List:
Barley hat pattern by Tin Can Knits. This is a free pattern but you must download your own copy either on TinCanKnits.com, Ravelry.com, or via the free Tin Can Knits app on iTunes or Google Play. You may choose any size from baby to adult large.
60-170 yards Worsted weight wool yarn purchased at Wollhaus. Our store sample was knit in 1 color of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, but you can use any worsted weight yarn from Wollhaus.
US 8/5mm 16” circular AND Double Pointed Needles (aka DPN’s) for decreasing OR a second pair of circular needles for decreasing; US 6/4mm 16” circular needles for ribbing (or needle sizes that meet preferred gauge depending on if you knit loose or tight).
Small tapestry needle, scissors, two stitch markers.
Two Session Class Time and Date: 9:00-11:00AM Saturday 11/02 and 11/09 (Please do not register if you cannot attend both classes.)
